Hand Knitted by Ruth, in Ruth's own design, inspired by the musk ox as they build a circle when threatened to fend off predators. This headband is sold ox-clusively at the Musk Ox Farm in Palmer, AK.  

These headbands are hand knitted on a 20" circular needle. They each have an elastic around the base sides, to help keep shape.

HB122: 

• The base, musk ox hooves & horns in this headband are made with a blend of 50% qiviut and 50% merino.
• The musk ox bodies are made with a fiber blend of 80% B-drop Qiviut and 20% wool (our Bullpen Blend yarn) for this headband.

HB121:

• The base in this headband are made with a blend of 50% qiviut and 50% merino.
• The musk ox bodies being made of 100% qiviut.
• The horns & hooves are made with a blend of 50% Qiviut and 50% Silk.

A note from Ruth:

"I started knitting and crafting at the age of seven in my home country of Switzerland. In 1988, after backpacking around the world, I was fascinated by the sled dogs and settled in Alaska. My passion with qiviut began in 2004 and to this day it is my favorite fiber to craft with. My hobbies are canine sports, camping, and exploring Alaska's back country with my spouse, dogs, and horses."

HB121- Size Medium, approximately 3.75 inches wide with a circumference that stretches from 18 inches to 22 inches.

HB122- Size X-Large, approximately 4 inches wide with a circumference that stretches from 20 inches to 25 inches.
